Eden Reforestation
Green Steam Carpet Clean has partnered with Eden Reforestation to plant 20 trees for every carpet or upholstery cleaning service booked.
Eden Forestation is a non-profit organisation that provides fair wage employment to impoverished villages as agents of global forest restoration. By 2025 their mission is to plant a minimum 500 million trees a year and offer hope to tens of thousands of people in countries where extreme poverty is rampant.
Our contribution to Eden forestation will see reforestation in Indonesia, Haiti, Madagascar, and Nepal. By employing local villages, the lives of employees are transformed by having a fair and dependable income to support themselves and their children. They are sending their children to school, able to afford good food and medical care, being freed from debt, labor and sex slavery, and are experiencing sustainable farming and fishing as their land, villages and local economies are restored to health.
What is deforestation
Deforestation is a global phenomenon caused by a variety of factors. These factors range from large-scale slash and burn practices, to unsustainable agriculture, to daily community forest destruction. In countries where poverty is widespread, communities often rely on cutting down trees for construction, cooking fuel, farming or
livelihood creation.
